Lankans urged not to visit Lumbini for now

At least 30 people have died in protests over the last month, as different ethnic groups have protested for statehood in the drafting of Nepal’s new constitution. (Colombo Gazette) Sri Lankan pilgrims have been urged not to visit Lumbini until further notice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.The Foreign Ministry also said that all Sri Lankan nationals stranded in Lumbini have left safely. The Sri Lankans were stranded following protests in surrounding areas.
