These Cinco de Mayo Drinks Are Muy Delicioso

first_imgCinco de Mayo is kind of an odd holiday. First off, it is not Mexico’s Independence Day (that’s September 16th). Rather, it commemorates Mexico’s 1862 victory over the French Army in the Battle of Puebla. It was an impressive underdog victory for the outgunned and outnumbered Mexican army, and has long served as a patriotic symbol for Mexicans and Mexican-Americans.These days, Cinco de Mayo is a general celebration of Mexican and Mexican-American culture and heritage. It’s a much bigger deal in the U.S. than it is in Mexico — maybe because every day in Mexico is a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage. Like most holidays, Cinco de Mayo is a great excuse to drink a considerable amount of alcohol — so let’s get started, shall we? Here are some unique Cinco de Mayo drinks to try.1.
