Photo Brian McDaid/Christeph GalleryBY PADDY WALSH: The ‘Sunshine’ went out of the lives of his family, friends, and community in Letterkenny this week following the sudden death of Patrick McFadden. One of the town’s most popular characters, he passed away at his Fortwell House apartment on Tuesday morning. He was just sixty-six years of age.Known far and wide as ‘Sunshine’ he worked for many years as a plasterer and indeed was involved in the work carried out in the Tara Court estate where he was waked. Huge numbers called to the family home to pay their respects following the removal of his remains on Tuesday from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest at Mountain Top.A familiar face on the streets of Letterkenny – friends and acquaintances spoke of having met him in the days before his death – he was always ready for a chat and time spent in his company invariably resulted in much laughter. There was also the chance of some lively debate whether it be on the subject of politics – he had been a campaigner in local and general elections in the past – or sport. On the latter front he had been a keen golfer and had in his day been widely acclaimed with a club in his hands. The funeral mass is taking place in the Church of the Irish Martyrs at 11.a.m. on Thursday. He is being to laid to rest in Conwal Cemetery. The late Mr McFadden is survived by his wife, Anne, daughters, Danielle, Natalie, and Stephanie, and son, Patrick, along with his siblings and other relatives and friends to whom sincerest sympathy is extended.SAD PASSING OF ‘SUNSHINE’ McFADDEN was last modified: May 13th, 2015 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:letterkennyPatrick McFaddenlast_img read more
